No one likes a slow, glitchy computer. Sometimes, though, these issues aren’t just random annoyances—they could be signs that your computer’s hardware is starting to fail. Here are some warning signs to look for and why they matter.

Random Freezes or Crashes

Have you ever had your computer suddenly freeze or shut down in the middle of a simple task, like browsing the web or typing up an assignment? This can be more than just bad luck or a glitch—it could mean there’s a problem with the hardware. Computers usually only freeze up when something isn’t working right. If it keeps happening, especially during basic tasks, it might mean a part inside is starting to fail.

Weird Noises

Take note if your computer starts making strange noises, like grinding, clicking, or buzzing! These sounds often come from parts with moving pieces, like the hard drive or fan. They’re supposed to run smoothly and quietly, so if you hear anything unusual, it could mean they’re wearing out or breaking down.
